I had the great pleasure of attending another house gig this week. Many thanks to all who make these events so great - you all know who you are! Very well-subscribed, the house was jam packed with ever-respectful and friendly true music aficionados. First we were treated to a rare appearance from Karl Firth. I, for one, would like to see more gigs from this talented young singer-songwriter. A perfect start to the evening. Next to grace the stage (as it were) was
Dan Wilde. Originally from Blackpool, Dan now hails from Cambridge, and traveled the long arduous road North to delight us with his sublime tales of love, loss and supermarket employment. Definitely one to keep an ear out for. Completely worthy of greatness. (Just so long as it's after next June, Dan!) Finally, Rounding off the night, A man who perhaps traveled more miles to this gig than the rest of the acts (and the guests) put together;
Mark Geary. Born of the Emerald Isle, he now resides in the Big Apple. We're all incredibly grateful that he stopped by to play a truly amazing set on his trip back eastwards. Before Mark donned the guitar, however, we were treated to a very special guest appearance in the shape of the man who perhaps made one of the shortest journeys to tonight's showcase, that stalwart of the Preston (and surrounding areas) music scene ;
Seamus McLoughlin. (More on those last two in Musical Interlude #2) Without further ado, some photographs from the night:
